Before we begin, lets address some sh*t.

So, this is my first written blog.

We’re gonna start talking about some real world sh*t in this new “notebook” of mine.

First things first,

Let’s address a few things:

One.

I am not the most in-shape person of all time. And that’s ok. We all struggle. My knowledge doesn’t make fitness/nutrition any easier for me on a personal level. But I will tell you what, I try my hardest to practice what I preach all while maintaining my own brand, bartending, doing the shit that makes me smile and loving/being there for Emily. So, if you have something to say about that, my email is kyle@mtkfit.com, and I will gladly go toe to toe in a private setting. (I will even give prior consent to releasing the conversation publicly)

Two.

I don’t claim to hold some big secret of what single exercise will make you lose your love handles or shred the beer gut that has been keeping you from seeing your pecker since you were 23. I DO claim to know that this sh*t is boring, monotonous and yields incredible results incredibly slow. Whether you want to clear up a shoulder issue, squat 400 lbs or lose 15 lbs, you are going to have to work long and hard before you get to enjoy what you will be defining as success. I am here to keep you on track, help you recognize the small wins and learn a thing or two about becoming an efficient and proficient gym goer.

Three.

I am fascinated with the human body and how it works. My bachelor’s degree is in athletic training which gives me a ton of knowledge on how to prevent injury. Honestly, I think that is my primary job as your Personal Trainer. If you get hurt, you’ll never reach your goals. You’ll be right back to sitting on your ass for 95% of your day. So, why on earth would I need you doing some crazy ass move that’s gonna land you in an orthopedic office. My wheelhouse is solid fundamental movements that we improve in the early stages of training and make them strong AF in the later stages. As we train those, the body goes through adaptations from the nervous system to the metabolic processes. Simple fact is, you see the fruits of your labor.

Now that you know those things about me, we can get to talking. In the next few weeks we’ll start talking my views of life, fitness and everything in-between. Hope you enjoy the ride.

  1. You are an inspiration to me to work hard to build muscle and stay fit in my older years. My independence is a necessity but I also a personality trait. Health and fitness discussions must continue because the knowledge is ever evolving ❤️And so are we!
